Fed: Labor says voucher won't make up for Job Network problems
The federal opposition says a proposed voucher system to help people find work won'tbalance a rumoured $120 million cut to the Job Network's $1 billion a year budget.
Labor's employment services spokesman DAVID COX says the reported $1,000 voucher isan admission the incentives in the Job Network contracts have failed to help job seekers.
The Age newspaper says that disadvantaged job seekers will be able to claim vouchersfor up to $1,000 for moving house, a new suit or extra training.
The vouchers are to be part of a Job Network overhaul in the May Budget.
Mr COX says the $1,000 voucher would provide assistance that, under the current arrangements,is supposed to be funded through more than $9,000 in payments.
