NSW: A signal failure in southern highlands

A signal failure has been blamed for the cancellation of a city-bound train service
from New South Wales southern highlands today.

NSW Opposition MP PETA SEATON says a Bowral station master has confirmed the 10.50
am (AEDT) CityRail service from Moss Vale isn't moving because of a signal failure near
Picton.

Ms SEATON says the train is sitting at Moss Vale, and will be postponed indefinitely.

Signal problems have been blamed for yesterday's fatal train crash in the Blue Mountains
in which seven people died.
